Jakob Nielsen – Usability of iPad Apps and Websites,

Jakob Nielsen and Raluca Budiu, recently published the 2nd edition of their report on the usability of iPad apps and websites. You can find it online here. The 129 page report uses a set of casestudies to illustrate the dos and don’ts of designing content for the iPad. It also offers some good general insight on designing for touch screen devices.

It’s a study that describes how contemporary musicians are becoming increasingly active and available for their fans, and using storytelling to build their character. Within the time of two weeks, I’ve heard engineers and researchers in two different conferences (ACM & ICIDS) talking about the importance of annotation and ontologies.
